Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing

As a Pouch Operator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our pouch packaging lines. Your attention to detail and technical skills will help maintain our reputation for delivering top-tier packaging to clients across various industries.

Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

• Set up, operate, and monitor pouch packaging machines such as form-fill-seal (FFS), spouted pouch, and stand-up pouch machines.
• Execute start-up, changeover, and shutdown procedures with precision, following our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure the right materials — films, spouts, caps, and other components — are correctly loaded and used for each production job.
• Perform quality checks to guarantee seal integrity, pouch aesthetics, correct labeling, and accurate coding.
• Record quality data as per our Quality Assurance (QA) guidelines and take immediate action on any non-conformance.
• Quickly identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, working closely with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring full compliance with GMP, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Accurately complete production documentation, including batch records, shift reports, and downtime logs.
• Collaborate with fellow operators, production staff, and supervisors to hit productivity goals and deliver consistent quality.

Minimum Requirements – What We’re Looking For

This role is suited for someone with a strong technical background in pouch packaging operations, particularly in a high-volume, quality-driven environment.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate (compulsory)

Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a packaging role, preferably within the flexible packaging sector
• Hands-on experience with pouch machines, including machine settings, troubleshooting, and maintenance

Desired Skills:

• Pouch machine operation (FFS, spout pouch, stand-up pouch)
• Machine settings and basic mechanical troubleshooting
• Quality control and documentation
