What’s the Opportunity All About?

The Department of Home Affairs has officially announced 2,000 fixed-term job opportunities available to South African youth. These roles are contract-based and will run from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2025 — offering up to three years of meaningful work experience!

This is your chance to be part of a large-scale project aimed at improving public service while empowering the youth. Successful applicants will be deployed to Home Affairs offices in Gauteng and North West provinces.

Here are the available roles and what you’ll need to qualify:

RUNNER & PREPPER – 320 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  • Diploma in Document and/or Records Management or Information Technology

RE-ASSEMBLER – 200 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Diploma in Document and/or Records Management or Information Technology

RECEIVING CLERK – 50 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Diploma in Document and/or Records Management or Information Technology

DRIVERS – 8 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Diploma in Document and/or Records Management or Information Technology
  •   Valid Driver’s License Required

INDEXER – 800 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Degree in Information Technology, Library Science, or Computer Science

SCANNER – 400 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  • Diploma in Information Technology, Library Science, or Computer Science

QUALITY CONTROLLER – 100 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Degree in Information Technology, Library Science, or Computer Science

TEAM LEADERS – 104 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Degree in Document and/or Records Management, Information Technology, or Computer Science

TECHNICAL SUPPORT – 12 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  •   Honours Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science

MANAGER – 6 Posts

Minimum Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in Document and/or Records Management, Information Technology

 

Where Will You Be Working?

If selected, you’ll be placed in one of the Home Affairs offices in Gauteng or North West, depending on your role and availability. This setup gives you direct exposure to real work environments in key provinces.
