Key Purpose of the Role

As an Accounts Receivable Debt Administrator, your main mission will be to manage and maintain the debtors’ book, making sure outstanding debt is collected efficiently and accurately. This role supports Dis-Chem’s broader financial health and ensures we continue delivering top-notch service to our suppliers and customers.

Minimum Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
  • OR a relevant Accounting qualification
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a debt collection environment

Bonus / Advantageous:

  • Experience working with pharmaceutical debtors or clients

What You’ll Be Doing – Your Daily To-Do List

Here’s a sneak peek at the exciting day-to-day responsibilities you’ll handle:

Account Management

  • Open and maintain customer accounts according to SOPs
  • Conduct accurate ITC checks before account approval
  • Keep customer information up to date in the system

Payment Processing & Allocation

  • Receive and allocate daily customer payments
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies
  • Ensure all invoices and statements are correctly issued

Debt Collection & Customer Contact

  • Follow up with customers on outstanding payments
  • Get commitments for payment and track responses
  • Communicate regularly to ensure debts don’t exceed 60 days
  • Maintain full records of conversations and correspondence

Reporting & Analysis

  • Run and review weekly age analysis reports
  • Report customer complaints and irregularities to management
  • Help resolve any disputes or queries regarding accounts

Compliance & Procedure Adherence

  • Comply with all Dis-Chem Policies and SOPs
  • Follow Health and Safety regulations
  • Maintain clear records for audit and compliance checks
