The DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING is looking for an IMMEDIATE SENIOR IT TECHNICIAN.

SALARY

R331 188 per annum (Level 08)

REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR IT TECHNICIAN

Grade 12 or an equal qualification, as properly as a 3-year national diploma, a bachelor’s degree, or every other relevant equal certificate in computer science or information technology.

A minimum of three years of applicable enterprise ICT environment experience.

Any networking certification, along with A+, N+, and CCNA, will be advantageous.

KEY DUTIES FOR SENIOR IT TECHNICIAN

Manage and preserve an eye on digital rights of entry and IT security. Provide the workforce and college students with LAN and WAN to get admission to university insurance policies and requirements.

LAN, WAN, email, and web connections need to be set up, managed, and stored on all campuses.

Analyzing, resolving, and recording any ICT-related troubleshooting issues

upkeep of CT equipment and software.

Deliver hardware and software programs to personnel and college students to meet the necessities of the college.

Maintain an eye on the hardware and software program system.

Report redundant hardware and software.

Keep abreast of the most recent developments in academic equipment and software.

Verify that the college’s intranet is accessible.

Check to see if the college’s webpage is constantly up to date with the most recent data.

Management of the unit’s entire human, financial, and any other useful resource base.

Maintenance and administration of the central server and community infrastructure.

Maintaining digital server infrastructure and services; retaining protection environments (patch management, antivirus firewall, and intrusion prevention).

Maintain messaging infrastructure and services, applicable rights of entry, and monitoring and backup maintenance; enforce appropriate protection measures.

Manage server-running systems; construct and preserve corporation infrastructure; and implement monitoring and reporting solutions.
